The successful incorporation of RFID systems as an enabling technology for business processes is strongly dependent on system design, equipment selection and installation procedures. These procedures must be informed with a comprehensive knowledge of the RF energy fields developed in the interrogation zones in order to minimize the risk of substandard system performance. Traditional approaches to analyzing RF fields developed by transmitting antennas in RFID interrogation zones, such as path loss contour mapping have four deficiencies.

The Portal Reality Check TM solution is priced to be extremely competitive to the cost of the typical equipment required for a path loss contour map analysis, which includes a spectrum analyzer, an RF generator, an antenna to mimic the passive tag and a typical RF transmitting antenna such as those utilized in RFID portals.
